On March 20th, we used a RANSOM charter bus to transport 30 UAB students to attend RANSOM at Samford University. That night, Samford’s president, Beck A. Taylor, attended as our guest speaker. He caught up with RANSOM’s president, Jeremy Towns, and the current RANSOM Samford Campus leader and Executive Leadership President, Shanya Blocker. President Taylor joined the students in worship and gave a great message leaving the students full of hope.

“I will definitely come back. I can’t wait to worship with these students again!” - Beck A. Taylor

This year’s RANSOM Spring Break Mission trips consisted of all 4 campuses coming together in Birmingham, followed by 65 UAB RANSOM students traveling to the University of South Alabama. Our trips focus on helping students develop their faith while spreading hope to one of our existing  campuses. This year, both of our spring break trips hit record highs for trip attendees and each student returned with testimonies of growth in their faith, self-discovery, and life-long memories.

Trey Jemison, UAB’s star basketball player, started attending RANSOM in 2022. In such a short time Trey has made a significant impact on our ministry. He has grown spiritually and always brings the energy into every room. Trey has impacted many students’ lives and has been a force off and on the court. We have attended numerous UAB Mens Basketball games to support Trey and it became a great community-building experience.
